Ex-Muslim and Christian convert, Nonie Darwish, speaks on Islam:

Exclusive: Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law

In her latest book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law, author Nonie Darwish paints a chilling description of what lies ahead for Western civilizations that continue down the road of political correctness and appeasement as Islamic (Shariah) law creeps its way into free societies across the globe. Darwish, who was born in Cairo, and moved as a child to Gaza with her family, was raised Muslim – her father founding Palestinian fedayeen units which launched terrorist raids across Israel’s southern border. When Nonie was only eight, her father was assassinated by the IDF, after which he was recognized as a shahid, or martyr for Islam. Darwish immigrated to the United States in 1978.

Islamic Law and the ensuing threats to Western civilization are subjects Darwish discusses with a passion and knowledge borne only of one who grew up within it can have. Having left Islam as an adult and having converted to Christianity, she has shared her experiences in Islam with her first book, Now They Call Me Infidel. Now with her second book, Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law, she explains in layman’s terms the meaning of Shariah law and the implications that face those who embrace it. Nonie Darwish visited with FamilySecurityMatters.org to discuss the book:

Lafferty Detained by State Department

Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) president Andrea Lafferty was targeted and detained by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s security personnel this Wednesday during the closing event capping the three day closed-door conference advancing the implementation of U.N. Resolution 16/18.

“For weeks we have been asking whether the true aims of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and U.N. Resolution 16/18 would be used to apply “old fashioned techniques of peer pressure and shaming” to chill and coerce those critical of the Islamist agenda,” said Lafferty.

“Hillary Clinton was as good as her word,” said Lafferty.

Spoonley: Just another Marxist Traitor?

[Hat tip: Octagongrappler for the link]

Is Professor Paul Spoonley just another Marxist traitor – one prepared to sell out New Zealand all in the name of so called ‘cultural diversity’ and minority interest groups?

Reading the following Spoonley article leads one to that very conclusion IMHO:

Paul Spoonley: State must uphold diversity to retain trust of citizens

[Spoonley:] Denis Dutton is keen to claim that the status and legitimacy of the state had been undermined by special rights for Maori. I would argue that the reverse is true.

A modern, democratic state can successfully gain the trust of its citizens only if it recognises the cultures of its various communities, majority and minority alike.

Perhaps Pakeha do feel aggrieved that this recognition has gone too far in the case of Maori, but an illiberal nationalism [whatever the heck that is] that curtails any recognition is not the answer.

Serial rapist and paedophile to be released

So despite having a high likelihood of reoffending, and that he shows no remorse or intention of staying away from children under 16 years of age Wilson will be released having served two-thirds of his 21 year sentence. Unbelievable! People like this should be subject to the death penalty in my opinion. The social liberals in our midst have destroyed the ability of the system to bring genuine justice where it is needed most. Shame on them!

‘Real’ risk Beast of Blenheim will reoffend

Stuff.co.nz – 02/11/2011

The sex offender known as the Beast of Blenheim is four times more likely than the average prisoner to reoffend if released, the Parole Board says.

In 1996 Stewart Murray Wilson was sentenced to 21 years in prison for sexually offending against women and girls over a 25-year period.

He would have served his sentence by September 2012, and will be released into the community.
