Global warming is real [… just not the man-made bit IMHO]

Please note: There are a large number of good supporting links in the main article which I have not included here – especially in the main blockquote where Marc Morano is cited.

By James Delingpole

[excerpts – emphasis mine]

We know it’s getting warmer. That’s not the point.

“The planet has been warming,” says a new study of temperature records, conducted by Berkeley professor Richard Muller. I wonder what he’ll be telling us next: that night follows day? That water is wet? That great white sharks have nasty pointy teeth? That sheep go “baaaa”?

No, the only surprising part of the results of the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature Project is the good professor’s chutzpah in trying to present them as new or surprising – let alone any kind of blow to the people he calls “skeptics” (or, when speaking to his friends at the Guardian, “deniers”).

Europe: “You Are Entering a Sharia Controlled Zone”

by Soeren Kern

[excerpts – emphasis mine
Hat tip: WebWrat]

A Muslim group in Denmark has launched a campaign to turn parts of Copenhagen and other Danish cities into “Sharia Law Zones” that would function as autonomous enclaves ruled by Islamic law.

The Danish Islamist group Kaldet til Islam (Call to Islam) says the Tingbjerg suburb of Copenhagen will be the first part of Denmark to be subject to Sharia law, followed by the Nørrebro district of the capital and then other parts of the country, the center-right Jyllands-Posten newspaper reported on October 17.

How feminism made so many nurses too grand to care

by Melanie Phillips

[excerpts]

Back in 2001, when Tony Blair was Prime Minister, I was invited to talk to him about the National Health Service. At that time, he was particularly exercised about reforming the NHS.

Sitting on the Downing Street sofa, I told him that the experience of my frail and elderly mother had left me shocked and aghast.

My mother, who suffered from multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease, had been hospitalised after a fall had fractured her hip. What appalled me was the lack of nursing care she received.

The moderate fanatics of the Islamist Winter

Melanie Phillips, as usual, introduces the hammer to the nail.

by Melanie Phillips

[excerpts]

It gets worse by the day. The lunacy of the west, that is, as the world teeters towards the precipice.

The ‘Arab Spring’ is turning just about everywhere into an Islamist winter. Libya has gone Islamist, with its new administration declaring that sharia law will rule. Sharia law is fundamentally anti-democratic, and Islamist theocratic regimes which adhere to its precepts are fundamentally anti-west.

The Chosen One – Obama

The following article, though quite long, really is well worth the read. Probably one of the best insights into Obama, his family, his mentors and sponsors — and hence what formulates his world-view — I have read yet.

by Angelo M. Codevilla – professor of international relations at Boston University and Vice Chairman of the U.S. Army War College Board of Visitors.

In our time, asking how a young man of scarce achievement got into position to win the Democratic Party’s nomination for president courts the contemporary synonyms for “impious”: “birther,” “conspiracy theorist,” and, of course, “racist.” Granted, to inquire into what formed a president is not as important as to understand what he does. Nevertheless, because fully to know where anyone is going requires grasping whence he comes, let us open ourselves to wonder how, minus miracles, a 10-year-old boy without obvious talent who had lived in Indonesia since age six ends up with an eight-year scholarship to Hawaii’s most exclusive school; a scholarship to Occidental College; a transfer into Columbia University; acceptance into Harvard Law School, and editorship of its law review; and how he goes from job to prestigious job without apparently mastering any of the previous ones. No wonder some of Barack Obama’s supporters treat him as if he were anointed by an extraterrestrial power.

Creation Story & Noah’s Flood recorded in Chinese Language

Ever wrestle with questions of faith? Most people do.

Where can you find such answers? One place to look is history. There are some intriguing explanations found in a culture that existed over one thousand years before the first words of the Bible were written down.

The Chinese language. It is the oldest, continuously writen language in the world. Is it possible the people who created the ancient Chinese characters knew the answers to the questions you are now asking? Is the connection between the ancient characters and stories in the Bible a coincidence or by design?

You decide for yourself …

Not by chance: From bacterial propulsion systems to human DNA, evidence of intelligent design is everywhere

By: Stephen C. Meyer

[Excerpt:]

The modern theory of intelligent design was not developed in response to a legal setback for creationists in 1987. Instead, it was first formulated in the late 1970s and early 1980s by a group of scientists-Charles Thaxton, Walter Bradley, Roger Olson, and Dean Kenyon-who were trying to account for an enduring mystery of modern biology: the origin of the digital information encoded along the spine of the DNA molecule.

Meet the Enemy: Grandma

October 19, 2011 by Richard Fernandez

A new term has been added to the litany catchphrases describing enemies of the people. To the words wreckers, profiteers and capitalist roaders has been added “bedroom blockers”, now used to refer to persons over 60 years of age who are live in homes in Britain with more bedrooms than they need.

What an amazing little country

What other nation but Israel would actively seek to assist nations who adhere to an ideology which is committed to its destruction and annihilation? We see a similar dynamic where Israel provides utilities and services into Gaza, etc – from which springs home-grown terrorist activity fully supported by the governing authority Hamas. Simply amazing.

I bet the Watermelons are loving this

But one must ask the question: Where are all the ‘green’ alternative energy options when a major gas supply is taken off-line?! If the enviro-Marxists had their way we would have no natural gas or oil-fired power generating capability, and yet it is hard to imagine ‘green’ options, such as wind, solar and tidal generation, ever replacing and coming anywhere near the power generating requirements of a country like New Zealand, or any other first world nation for that matter.

The Bloody Record of the War Against Carbon—and the Green Movement Generally

By E. Calvin Beisner, Ph.D.
October 3, 2011

[Excerpts:]

In recent weeks, news has surfaced about atrocities in Africa and Latin America perpetrated by organizations on quest for carbon credits in the international struggle to prevent global warming.

In Honduras, thirty-two peasant farmers, a journalist, and one other person were allegedly murdered between January 2010 and June 2011 by private security forces working for companies that own palm oil plantations in Honduras, according to the international fact-finding mission report “Human Rights Violations in Bajo Aguán,” released in July.

Climate Change Used as Excuse For Population Control

[Hat tip: Robertvdl, Crusader Rabbit – see sidebar]

by Dr. Tim Ball on May 5, 2011

The major target for the Club of Rome was a population that was improving quality of life, health, and the pursuit of happiness. It argued this was achieved by the unsustainable exploitation of resources and destruction of nature. As they explain,

If the present growth trends in world population, industrialization, pollution, food production, and resource depletion continue unchanged, the limit to growth on this planet will be reached sometime within the next one hundred years.

It’s now 40 years on, and the predicted end is nowhere in sight despite efforts to amplify, distort, and falsify evidence. It is as wrong as all the other predictions that various members of the Club made, especially the population predictions of Paul Ehrlich and John Holdren. In 1971, Ehrlich recommended reducing US population from its then 205 million because it was unsustainable. Pursuit of the goals is more active than ever as members control national and international finances and economies, hold political offices, or work through many private agencies under the guise of saving the planet. It is not a conspiracy, but pursuit of a political philosophy that has failed everywhere and anywhere it was tried.

CO2 Insanity: Kill the Plants, Kill the People

[Hat tip: Robertvdl, Crusader Rabbit – see sidebar]

by Dr. Tim Ball on May 16, 2011

Overpopulation is the fundamental underlying focus of the Club of Rome. It’s an extension of the Malthusian claim that the population would exceed the food supply. They argue it applies to all resources and is made worse by the demands of developed, industrialized nations. Solution? Reduce the population. This may occur through an unintended consequence as politics exploits science.

The Origins of Political Correctness

This speech should be compulsory reading for everyone who is concerned with where Western civilisation is heading. And none more so than those either in or who are a product of the socialised education system.

An Accuracy in Academia Address by Bill Lind
February 5, 2000

Where does all this stuff that you’ve heard about this morning – the victim feminism, the gay rights movement, the invented statistics, the rewritten history, the lies, the demands, all the rest of it – where does it come from? For the first time in our history, Americans have to be fearful of what they say, of what they write, and of what they think. They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic.

Herman Cain: Runaway Slave

By Lloyd Marcus

I keep having images of Herman Cain barefoot, covered in sweat and mud, wearing an old patchwork shirt and handmade burlap pants held up by a rope rather than a belt, out of breath and frantically running for his life; to freedom. Menacing sounds of barking dogs in the distance focused on Cain’s scent. Not far behind, hot on Cain’s trail, are black overseers determined to keep their fellow black slaves in check for their white liberal Democrat massas.

Anti-Semitism, the Obama Administration, & the American Left

We Have to Start Over
Patricia McCarthy

What accounts for the appalling acceptability of overt anti-Semitism these days? While fashionable on university campuses for years, the norm in France for as long as we can remember, and de rigueur among Muslims throughout the Middle East, how have we come to a place here in the United States where protestors embraced by the American Left and our media can openly scream anti-Jewish epithets and carry signs with hateful slogans indicting the Jews of the world for all manner of crimes against humanity?

The Georgia Guidestones

On one of the highest hilltops in Elbert County, Georgia stands a huge granite monument. Engraved in eight different languages on the four giant stones that support the common capstone are 10 Guides, or commandments. That monument is alternately referred to as The Georgia Guidestones, or the American Stonehenge. Though relatively unknown to most people, it is an important link to the Occult Hierarchy that dominates the world in which we live.
